How would you'll compare the two in terms of accuracy, durability, trigger quality, sights, and ease of field stripping/cleaning? Thanks.

Field stripping and cleaning: Probably about the same. Both are easy enough.
Accuracy: Probably the AR180. Depends on which model of Mini you are comparing it to.
Durability: I would go with the Mini.
Sights: Neither one has bragging rights. Both are crude but the newer Mini has made improvements. The Mini has more after market options.
Trigger: The Mini doesn't really have any after market options, you need to send it out for a trigger job. The AR180B gives you the options of AR15 trigger jobs. If you screw it up you can still buy parts. If you screw up your Mini you have to send it off to Ruger.

Mini vs 180B

I had both, got rid of the 180. Too many pics of broken lowers on the net. Great idea, poor execution. The 180B needed a stamped lower like the original had. Mini for sure.

AR108B vs Mini-14?

Gah, that's like asking which of these guys you'd rather have do brain surgery on you:

My perceived problems with the Mini-14:
1) Mags are expensive and Ruger can turn the tap back off at any time.
2) I can't have spare parts to do immediate repairs.
3) Too much of the operating system is on the outside of the rifle.

The AR180B isn't much better:
1) Front pivot is known weak point. Manufacturer claims problem was limited but that design should have been executed in steel, as it was originally designed.
2) Too many details done wrong on the AR180B. No dust cover, cheap straight charging handle vs the crank handle of the original, no chromed bore. None of this was done to improve the design, but seems only to make the rifle cheaper.

If I had to choose between those 2 I'd take the SKS.

right now, the mini, as much as I cant stand it, is better. it is a shame about the ar180; it has the potential to be a absolutely great rifle. And it is not that expensive, there is no way, the could ever convince me this is not a 600 dollar rifle, which is why I will never buy it. That being said, the few fixes mentioned in the above dudes thread, could make this the ak, that the ak was meant to be; both more modular, and accurate. Armalite is missing out on a good thing here.
oh yeah, get a Saiga.

The guy on the left. Cleaner shirt, better haircut, and he has a wristwatch. Clearly the more educated of the two.

if the guy on the left would please wear ear muffs, ill be in for surgery soon....

Have seen that pic before, (a cut out of the feller on the right was used for Gunkids' avatar on another forum), WHO the heck ARE those two weirdos?
