Arms dealing from U.S. gun shops?

Couldn't they get a Russian 12.7 instead  Why go through the trouble with the .50, sure they don't have match grade ammo, but that kind of hardware is produced pretty close to them already...

When IFOR rolled in we separated the belligerants, the Bosnian Serbs from the Bosnian Muslims. Most of the Hostilites ended at that point, thats if you are talking about that area (Bosnia). The UN saturated the country with international troops ever since SFOR.
Occaisionally Land mines go off, Antipersonnel mines go off.
Albania and Kosovo is another matter. Serbia is another matter. If there is any sniping going on with 50 cal rifles in recent history remains to me to be seen. Now if there if something that I don't know...

I have heard of this story as well. He was taking the maximum number of weapons and ammo possible, and smuggling them via commercial aircraft through Switzerland, and continuing to I believe Albania. He was trveling on the guise that he was en-route to dangerous game hunting in Africa with an Albanian hunting club, cont'd the added guns, ammo and stop in Albania. The Swiss stopped him several times on suspicion of gun running, but never kept him because his story panned out. From what I heard, he would actually purchase animals, and continuation tickets, and licenses to hunt Africa.

Topic: Arms dealing from US gun shops.

Kneejerk reaction: What did they think they were dealing at gun shops? Fluffy pink bunnies?

Anyway, this doesn't sound like a case of anything illegal on the gun shop's end. Buddy wants to buy two (very expensive) rifles, passes the check, does everything by the book and turns around to sell them to a foreign country an indeterminite amount of time later?

Uh. Clearly the purchaser is at fault, if such a thing is illegal. Certainly for filling out the "is this gun for you?" question on the yellow form incorrectly. Unless we're going to require that all FFL's also be psychics I don't see what the big deal is, here.
