Howdy folks. What do you know about Armscor's AK22 and M1600? I saw them when I was a kid at a flea market many moons ago and forgot about them. Then I saw a few on gunbroker and it got me thinking about them again. I wouldn't mind getting one for fun (and depending on your reviews, maybe for PDogs and Squirrels). What do you know about the reliability, craftsmanship, accuracy, availibility of replacement parts and the sort? Who owns one?

I have not shot them, but have handled the AK and read a detailed review in Gun Tests magazine. They were favorably impressed and thought it was a decent plinking rifle. If you'd like a copy of the review and can't find it on their web site, let me know and I can dig out my copy and send it to you.

I own the M1600

The manual really blows. It is only nine pages long, including a four page parts list. In other words, good luck taking it apart for cleaning. To see what I mean, here is a link:

My first impression was that it is fun to shoot, but I would never trust my life with it. M1600 in the safe, Ruger 10/22 under the bed.

had the AK22, manual's made to be a drink coaster.

a pain to take apart, but it's OK for a plinker alternative to krinker.... imho...

it's pretty quiet shooting of any .22 I've used, accuracy is OK as the sights are useless and not very good. Build-wise it passes... but because of it's comical shape, makes it chunky to operate.

Magazines were the hardest to get, as CA doesnt allow the fun magazines.

I hope you're joking?!?

Back to the topic. I handled the Armscor AK22 and ummm....it felt like cheap garbage. I can't attest to how well it functions but like I said, the build quality is not up to par.

Yes, I was just trying to make this point: Armscor M1600 does not feel reliable or easy enough to use when compared to other guns that shoot .22 LR :)
