I haven't been on active duty for since 06 but I know the Marines were still training with bayonets when I was in. And the new USMC bayonet is an evil looking device that would give rambo a woody. I had that heavy thing hooked to my flak during both of my deployments to iraq and it was great for cutting all maner of things you would never want to use your personal benchmade for. The blade lengh is perfect for cutting blocks of C4 down the middle. The Iraqie "engineers" I had to train were more imperssed with my bayonet than the case full of 18 volt dewalt tools we were teaching them to use.
