arsenal milled ak's original price?

Milled arnsenal ak's seem to be in the $1k-$1.3k range on gunbroker.
I have no intention of purchasing one but I'm curious what did they run when they were still available new from arsenal?


I'm just wondering if they jumped up. I'm thinking in regards to their stamped rifles, if they would follow a similar trend if production stopped/soon banned, or if the higher values are simply because they are milled versus stamped.

Earlier this year, new SAM5 w/pinned muzzle brake and no side rail, one 5 round mag and two 30 round mags (all factory), $700 OTD.

The Arsenal milled AK's were extremely high quality in many ways. Fit and finish are astounding, and the furniture on some is the best AK furniture you will ever see. The SA series milled AK's were also 100% US made -- no imported surplus parts. That's an expensive way to built them.

Prices in SA series milled Arsenals ranged from $600 to $1200 new, depending on specific model. If you got lucky (as I did), you were able to pick up a ban-era model (pinned muzzle brake and no bayonet lug) for as little as $400.

Predicting what will happen to the price of any new gun is very difficult. I wouldn't count on new Arsenals appreciating rapidly in price. If you like them and can afford one to shoot and/or admire, get one. But there are better places to put your money if you want an investment.

My local shop has a SA-M7 w/ flash suppressor for $699. I came VERY close to buying it. I kind of wish I hadn't bought a Saiga .223 and got the Arsenal instead. When you figure a Tromix conversion on the Saiga is $350 + flash suppressor ($50) + decent rear sight ($50) -- you're right at the cost of a milled Arsenal SA-M7.

Maybe I'll sell the Saiga and put the $ toward the Arsenal AK.

Paid 700 bucks for a SA M-7S about 3 yrs ago. It had been shot maybe 100 rounds. Came with Kobra red dot, case and 6 mags. Guy thought it would shoot as accurate as a AR which it won't. Arsenal build and finish quality is way above other AK types by far.

I paid 300 and change for my SLR 95 before the final ban in Kali wiped them out. I thought the price was high seeing how I paid just under 200 for my MAK 90. After all these years the SLR 95 is by far one of the best AK clones that I've seen/fired.

I bought my first Bulgarian SLR-95 back in 1997...

It cost me $269.95 through an FFL dealer near Sacramento.

I just wish I had bought several more at that price.

Really changed by opinion of East European manufacture.
