The Bradys and Helmke know the difference between "clips" and "magazines".

They know exactly what they're doing. Their intent is to maintain a level of fear in the mostly ignorant populace.

Clips sounds more menacing because it's what the "ganstas" and Hollywood use to referrence magazines.

jbrown50, you are spot on. This is a marketing campaign, don't forget that. The Brady's are not ignorant, they are propogating nomenclature that elicits the most fear among the populace. Assault weapon, high capacity clip, etc. The disheartening thing is that large parts of the gun community has picked up on the lingo and reuses these terms.

Look, such "ignorant" pronouncements by the Brady Campaign, Rep. Carolyn McCarthy, etc., do not have as their intended audience people who know much about guns (such as those on this board). Their intended audience is those who know little about guns other than that they viscerally don't like them. The professional anti-gunners (like Josh Sugarmann of the Violence Policy Center, Michael Beard of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, the staffers at the Brady Campaign, etc.) actually know quite a lot about guns. They're just playing a public deception game. To them, it's all about "the ends justify the means" and no trick is too low as long as it advances their intended goal, which is the complete removal of guns from society.

Don't underestimate these people. The remedy is to educate their intended audience (suburban soccer moms, etc.) so that it's less hoodwinked by the "anti" tactics.

FYI- I carried Winchester "Black Talons" in my S&W model 39-2, just today. LOL

I carry .40 S&W "WBT's" all the time.. and have been doing it for the past 20 years or so. As it is now, I've got approximately 200 rounds of the stuff in S&W .40 cal.

I've been to some gun shows where a single box of 20 (being sold by a individual), has had a price of between $50 - $65. I've yet to see anyone buying them at that price considering you can get the Winchester PDX1 over the shelf at most any gun shop for about $18 - $20 a box.

Why are you guys making light of the so-called assault clip ban proposals? This became law during the Clinton's reign of terror on guns and it did not expire until Bush #2.

Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) is very serious about this legislation and said so on MSNBC TV Monday night after the buzz about Obama's speech on getting more gun controls.

These people will not stop until WE are limited to a single shot rimfire for deer hunting only.

Magazines, speedloaders, clips by any name will be all together so no need to really get technical. I ordered a few mags last week, local dealer couldn't get any in. I noticed today on their site "due to the number of orders for magazines call first for availability." That kinda tells me something. I bought factory mags to be delivered today, just made it I guess.

Isn't that where I spill my paper clip container and they assault EVERYTHING on my desk? I mean those suckers are mean. Some of them even fall onto the floor and assault the vacuum cleaner days later, and cause a horrible grinding noise and the machine to stop. Causing me to have to clean it out.

Again, the political climate is not conducive to this. I agree that we should be writing congressman, but I don't think there's reason to fear it will pass. Won't even make it out of committee, is my guess.

I have a spam can full of evil armor piercing ammo in M1 clips. Would that be an assult can or a multiple of assult clips. I guess if I opened the can it would release multiple assults. How can I direct these assults against liberals only? chris3

BTW, Carolyn McCarthy is the Congresswoman who's obsessed with gun control (her husband was killed in the Long Island Rail Road shooting). Carolyn Maloney is a Congresswoman from Manhattan -- she's not any better on guns, but her primary emphasis is on issues affecting Wall Street.
