I love this tiny mouse gun. Very elegant and simple mechanics - thank you John Moses Browning!

1t order of things- all my 22s don,t strike dry- all equipped by hold open followers I made for the magazines. An extended mag release button allows to drop the mag with one hand( ring finger)

I was curious how it would look with a threaded attachment on it,s tiny barrel?

Can,t have silencer , what muzzle device I can try?


Hollywood gave me an idea. I wanted cycle blanks like in the movies. For ****s and giggles.
I knew they use muzzle restriction, it have no idea how much closed a barrel needs be to cycle.
They have different sizes inserts for different weapons and calibers.
So, I have made an adjustable restriction, like a faucet. Loaded the gun with the nail gun blanks ( equal in size to the 22 shorts), started shooting and slowly closing the barrel with the screw. Closed 2/3 and it started to cycle.
I know, I know, for a 50 years old man it was silly …. But entertaining

I have a few Astras in 22 short, can you provide details on the hold open followers? The only thing I dislike anout these pistols is when somebody dry fires them becausee tgey cant count.
The idea of fireeing blanks is very novel and you did a great job, but not of interest to me.... last time I checked the nail gun blanks are more pricy than live ammo, and I have no desire to shoot my hand. Lol thanks in advance

Thanks. I also have no interest to shoot my hand. That was for the dramatics and demonstration that : it is actually a blank. I,m simply curious and wanted to learn and prove the concept. Plus to share.
Besides if you can see, the gas comes from the top opening of the rig, or front . it can,t hurt the hand or a piece of paper I had shot just before the video. If it came from the front- I would not do it. The attachment is unlikely to be used again and lays somewhere with the extra parts for this gun and a few nail blanks I bought.

As for the followers. Initially and for Astra I made them like, Erma Luger .22 conversion kit magazine- picture above: has a little protrusion that will catch the bolt after the last round is gone.
Other gun followers I designed looking at my CCMG.22 conversion kit magazine for AR15.,even my AK47. One simply either modifies the existing follower to stick higher or completely makes a new one. Typically making it a bit taller and narrower on the top to pass the lips.
I will make a separate thread for the hold open followers, it perhaps will be self explanatory how to do it. One thing to remember- copy the top angle of the follower for correct feeding.

by the way, I use cheaper magazines for Astra made for another gun : FIE Titan EIG Tangfoglio .22 Short 6 Round Rd Blued Steel Magazine Triple K 287M. They fit perfect and just need the cut catch.

Great material cutting board . AR-7 hold open follower. 3d print would be excellent solution.
