I just sent in the paperwork for the 7th renewal of my Curio & Relics license. 21 years, a long time! I do feel it is worth it considering only $30 total for 3 years. I may need it to get a item quickly.

What do my fellow THR members think?

I'm on my tenth renewal! Since I almost never buy new guns, and love old ones, the C&R license is priceless to me. I have walked into gun stores three states away and walked out with C&R guns the same day. No 4473, no background check. One store did ask to see my Illinois FOID card. I buy a lot of guns from Collector Guns (Simpson's) in Galesburg, Ill. Illinois has a waiting period on rifles and a longer one for handguns. No wait if the gun is a C&R and purchased with a C&R license.

A C&R license? Don't leave home without it !!

Thanks for posting. I'm due this year. Did they send you a reminder along with the form? I seem to remember ATF sending out a reminder at least once in the past. If you sent it in without a reminder, how far in advance did you submit it? I seem to remember something about 6 months. Please keep us posted as to how long it takes. Thanks again.

I sent mine in earlier this year indicating my intent not to renew. Not buying any more.

I'm thinking about dropping mine, after 5 or 6 renewals. I got the renewal form last week and I'm not sure I want to risk a Biden WH and an all-left Congress as an FFL holder. I've pretty-much checked off my whole Want List and am planning on seriously thinning out the herd. My biggest question is whether or not the 03 will help me with the sales and distributions.

No reminder. Just the normal renewal form 3 months before expiration . I will keep you posted on how long it takes to get my new certificate.

Well, crap…it just cost me again! Having it definitely makes a difference when deciding to bid on collectibles!!
