Atf open letter on the redesign of “stabilizing braces”

IF I had videos that were taken and posted when it WAS allowed, I probably wouldn't be too worried about being charged with anything. After all, it was acknowledged by the ATF that it was OK to do so. Isn't there a thing about that type of law change (ex post facto)? :)

However, if I had such a video and was explaining to my viewers that using the brace in such a way was allowed (which it was), I would take down the video. That way any viewers couldn't get themselves in trouble by taking my (now banned) advice.
 
Bob's got it exactly right. I don't think anyone should fear ex post facto prosecution, but why would someone who's hobby or livelihood involves explaining and promoting firearms and shooting leave up videos showing how and exhorting viewers to do something which is now declared to be, henceforth, an NFA violation? He could put up a new video saying, "this WAS legal for a time..." but what's the point?
