ATI to import the StG 44...in 22!

ATI is planning on permanentally attaching a barrel extension ("fake noise suppressor") to the MP40, so that it would not be classified as a SBR and legal for importation for civilian sale.

I know the $200 tax really deters people, but I'd much rather have it as an SBR. A fake can on an MP5 look alike doesn't look that off. On a MP40 look alike, I have a hard time imagining it looking nearly as natural. It will be interesting to see the final product.

I agree, my son will go APE for that MP40 lookalike, it would finally be something worthy of the tax stamp nonsense to get one, IF it can be had for not to many pennies...or would that be pfennigs?

I read the blog with the Mp40 pics, and two things struck me - that is a BIG subgun, and two, they said the fake supressors they will be using will be cloned from German WWII originals - so I guess they did use them. Will be fascinating to see.
With all the weight in those things, no wonder they have darn near zero muzzle rise.

Not sure if the Germans ever did it during the war but a silenced MP40 is not out of the question.

While a real suppressor is cool, it is not particularly stylish, and lets be honest, these .22 look alikes are all about style.
