Austin area gun shows

Has anybody been to one of the shows at the North Austin Event Center? If so, are they any good?

I'm looking primarily to buy ammo and perhaps some AR components. Would it be worth the additional driving to go to the Saxet show in San Antonio the same weekend?

Prices are generally inflated and i suspect will be exceptionally high now. Sometimes you can find some okay deals on used stuff. Online is by far your best bet. GDS Enterprises in South Austin has decent prices and then there is always Cabellas down in Buda. Mostly i shop at GT or online.

The gun show in Austin is small and crowded. Also, they do not seem have any good deals. You are probably out of luck when it comes to ammo (the guys that I usually buy from no longer go to the gun show). However, there are ARs as far as the eye can see (but not much of anything else).

I suggest either going to the one in San Antonio or even better wait and go to the gun show in Houston.

Like Justin said, online is your friend and he will deliver it to your front door for you.

I would not attend the Saxet gunshow held monthly in San Antonio buy the time you pay for parking and entrance whatever savings has gone and you might be better off buying on line. There is a gunshow that is held every two or three months at the Freeman Coliseum EXPO Hall with over 800 tables where you could find a good deal. The next one being held is on Dec 8th and 9th.

The Saxet gunshow has become a show for jewelry,toys, and oddities.
