Test fired the A & H mountain rifle today. Had a slight headwind, with light to moderate snow falling at times. The charge was 100gr of American pioneer powder and a 385 gr Hornady Great Plains bullet. Musket caps were used to ignite the blast. Five shots were fired into a tightly clustered group around 1 1/4", at 70 yds. Windage was dead on, but the group was around 6" low. I will return to the range next week and begin filing the front sight into zero.

I find anyone that would go out on the first cold, snowy, windy day of the year to test his gun deserves more kudos that his gun's accuracy. But that's pretty good shooting also. :D

The weather wasnt to uncooperative, but any day short of high winds or thunder is ok for black powder! The rifle is an import, but it still is pretty good quality. Hopefully will get her zeroed by deer gun season in 2 wks!
