My friends Dad just gave him his old Belgian made Auto 5. The gun needs a little tlc so we are cleaning it up. I have downloaded the manual from Browning, but I can not find any info on how the remove the bolt from the reciever. I have an idea, there is a pin holding the bolt latch on and there is a notch on the ejection port that lines up with the pin and a hole exact opposite the left side of the reciever. I do not want to screw up the gun so any help is appreciated. Thank You

Before you start messing with those screws on that reciever go to Brownells and buy one of their gunscrewdriver sets specifivally made for the Auto Five. I know this sounds silly but the screws on the Auto Five have an unusual shape and require a screwdriver head with a specific shape to work effectively. If you try using an ordinary screwdriver from KMart you'll end up marring the screwheads on the reiciever.

Auto-5's weren't meant to be disassembled by the end user, and they can get very involved in taking apart or reassembly. Unless you really know what you are doing I would take it to a smith.

I also highly recommend buying those special built screwdrivers, the name is Gracy's. Brownells sells them. The blades are ground to fit the screws and will help prevent damage to the receiver screws.
Also, purchase the book " The Gun Digest Book of Firearms Assembly/Disassembly Part V: Shotguns second edition ".
Then just follow the detailed instructions for the Auto-5. Piece of cake to disassemble/assemble.
