I know there are many other powder to use for a revolver, but has anyone tried Autocomp in 38 or 44 Special? I tried it in 40cal and it burn very clean with no smoke. I might load a few and give it a shot. Thanks.

In these days of powder unavailability a man may have to improvise and use whatever powder he can get hold of. Start low and be safe.....knowing what you're doing and experimenting is half the fun.

I have loaded in 38/357 and 45 Colt. My initial tests had no smoke and flame. Accuracy was good, but not great. Give it a try.

Thanks for the replies. Powder choices are very limited so I would like to add this to the mix.

The only thing I don't like about AutoComp is the density. It has very poor case fill for most revolver loads.
