We've all seen the prices skyrocketing and gouging lately on AW type guns.

I talked to one dealer and he said it wasn't him raising the prices, but the distributor/importer.

Anyone know what's really going on? Is it the mad rush to buy them up, and suppliers can't keep up with the demand? Or is it the suppliers nervous about not making some money if the Democrats decide to declare a ban?

This is important to know because when the demand comes down, prices should come down. And I can wait.

But if the suppliers/mfr fear they won't be making some money in the near future, they may be raising the prices.

Historically, how stable are firearm prices during a recession.

Anyone know the real scoop?

suppliers can't keep up with the demand
There ya go. Before November, it was the usual supply and demand; now, everyone in America with a brain wants an EBR, and demand has spiked. In order to not be even MORE swamped with orders, they raise the price.

Simple supply and demand economics. If the companies raise prices a bit to survive a government onslaught, so be it--I'm willing to pay a couple bucks more so the companies can stay in business.

Well, I looked at the same rifle today that I did about 3 months ago, and it was my gun shop that raised the price $200.

I'm sure that the manufacturers are too, speaking that this is their biggest stimulus in the history of gun sales.
