Come on guys, we just have Monday left! Let's hear some cheers! I don't know whether they just got lazy or whether our work actually meant something, but I'm quite happy this thing is dead. I know, I'm kinda counting chickens before they hatch, but we're practically there. Rather than speculating what the next 10 years are going to be like, I'm just going to be happy for now that some awful legislation dinally died.

IT'S ABOUT DAMNED TIME!!!!

:D :D :D :D :D :D

P.s. I REALLY wish I were in the states so I could celebrate today!

I'm just wondering whether my local dealer will have the gun I want in stock. I'm kinda psyched about getting my first AR, but I'll only get one if it has banned features like a collapsable stock, flash supressor and a bayonet lug.

There are probably still people over on TFL who think THR is still down to the BFS (Big freakin' storms). :D

I ordered some stuff, and the gun show is the weekend after it expires, I'll see what else I can get, doubt the show will have much though. If I had no wish to be a good person, I would order a pile of Glock mags and sell them at the show to people who think they are still worth $40+

Steve, when Concentration Camp survivors were allowed to leave, they didn't cheer, throw parties, and celebrate. They often didn't even leave. We've lived in this repressed society for so long, it's almost unimaginable that a law is actually repealing itself this quietly. It's almost too good to be true. I have a feeling most are quietly planning to GORGE THEMSELVES on anything that looks, smells, or feels like an assault weapon.

BTW, know ye all that the term 'assault weapon' is officially dead in most states come Monday night. If asked, they are simply magazines, rifles, pistols, and shotguns, thank you very much.

Not victory yet

When John Effin sKerry and the DU are trying to analyze what went wrong-

When the big artery in DiFi's neck finally bursts-

When the Hero of Chappaquiddick drowns in his own juices-

and

When Hellary is convicted of Vice Foster's murder-

Then, maybe, I'll relax a little, and breathe a sigh of relief.

This is only a reprieve, not exoneration.

About a month ago I bought Tamara's HK91 (with collapsibvle stock). Now, I realize that theoretically it's "value" has dropped (and I knew it might when I bought it)...you know what? I'm still VERY happy to have it. :D Can't wait to get home and shoot it...and buy more mags for everything!

Analogizing the effects on people of the repeal of a stupid law that really was nothing more than a bunch of fluff on one side and an inconvenience to the other (cant have flash hiders...waaaaaaaaaaaaah) to the horror of the holocaust disgusts me and quite frankly, pisses me off. I expected more out of you Badg

When Hellary is convicted of Vice Foster's murder-

Im speechless....:scrutiny:

Whatever, Ill take my reynolds wrap yarmulke off now and take a nap, hopefully the aliens wont show up

Tomorrow night (Sunday) at 2359hrs, I will be at our range counting down the seconds. At precisely 0001hrs (Monday), I will be expending a magazine of 5.56 NATO ball and tracers from my Daewoo K2.:D

Cheers???? ????, this sunset cost me a fortune, had the AWB been extended I'd have back the 4K it cost to buy toyz in celebration of the sunset. :banghead: ;) :D

Steve Smith, the pessimism and carping and bitching and poor-mouthing and complaining and general lousy attitude displayed by many in the shooting community used to drive me crazy.

But then, I re-read the book of Exodus and the account of the Israelites wandering in the wilderness.

It's a great lesson in human nature.

The awful truth is that human beings, given a choice between rejoicing and celebrating or carping and moaning, will almost always choose carping and moaning.

It's just human nature. The glass is always half-empty for most folks.

Check the story of the Exodus, and the account of those Israelites who, a little ways into the journey, complained that they were at least fed well as slaves, and that Moses had led them into the wilderness to starve, and then they went back to Pharoah, begging on their knees to be taken back.

They were, of course, executed with swords for their troubles, but they chose dying on their knees on familiar ground over wandering on their own feet in unfamiliar territory.

My only advice is don't let the pessimistic so-and-so's get you down.

Wildalaska: Not sure you know much about my background, but take a look at the site below. My name is Aaron and my brother's name is Joel. You do the math.

Also, read through the following article:
http://www.stephenhalbrook.com/article-nazilaw.pdf

Comparing firearms law to the holocost is not only wholly appropriate, but historically accurate. Firearms laws are step 8, if you will, of the 10-step program. Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.

The high road, people.

Anyway, I heard on ARF.com that it ends on the last second of Sunday. The AWBsunset.com timer reflects this. Monday morning I'll order a collapsible stock and do a jig. :D

We talked about that once before I beleive at an auction or at the shop....does not make the comparison any more valid however.

And with the utmost repsct I have for Steve Halbrook he can be wrong too.

Is it just me or are 90% of WildAlaska's posts negative?

Its you...try the ignore button

Wild, this tinfoil Yamaha you have . . . does it work against bears, pumas and magic unicorns of THR

Actusally...I aint been bit by a bear yet :)

No tinfoil kipah needed

WildA,

I was trying to make the point that this is a small gain. The AWB wasn't repealed, by brave lawmakers or by mandate of the public. It is the built-in expiration time.

Period.

On Sept. 15, a new and even more restrictive bill could be introduced. A Kerry Presidency will virtually doom gun ownership, and slant SCOTUS for decades.

Oh, and I'm gonna grumble anyway, cuz I live in Commiforneeya, and the Federal expiration doesn't affect the state bans :(

The fat lady is warming up in the green room, and the schedule has her on next, but the jackasses are still on the stage right now.

- Gabe ;)

Latest rumor is that W will be pressured into signing an executive order tomorrow extending the ban for a year.

Let's hope that's all it is - rumor...
