Anyone know where I can get a better deal than this? A local chain store has the Ruger max 9 or max 9 pro for 379 clams. Still don’t know if the wife would go for it at that price. Probably the Taurus GX guns are more in line with our budget, but I personally do care about reliability …..

Of all the “micro” 9mms, the Max 9 was the most accurate and natural poi/POA for me. But it and the other hurt my damaged hands. Very thin on the basic strap. I had a GX4, it’s nice too. They are both about the same price around here, with the Max 9 being about $50 more. And I really don’t see why that is.

Lockedandloaded charges tax and shipping. I don't charge either. If you're still looking, my shop has them. We'd be happy to see what discounts you qualify for. We want to make sure you and your wife are well-armed, and not pinching-pennies.

We try to try match, if not beat, any quoted prices. Best Holosun prices on the whole of the internet, for example.

Too many clams!

Yes I am. Thank you. Not the pro though? How do u find these deals?

I just know Ammo Az sells guns at very good prices and checked their website.

They have one listed at 329 and one listed at 369. Id give them a call or stop by if you're in the area. Nice store.

I don't think Ruger handguns are any more reliable or dependable than Taurus. Matter of fact, I think they're worse than Taurus IMHO and experience. With that said and with your budget, I'd still try to find a good price on the Ruger even if it's a little more because they have a less expensive, faster, and better Warranty service should anything go wrong.

Sadly, ruger has started cranking them out and ask almost any ruger purchaser about their warranty service. They'll tell you it's great...(because most everyone has to make use of it..)

Is that just the Max 9, or has Ruger's QC taken a dip in general in the past few years?

Dang! I've got nearly five bills in mine. Favorite nine yet. (Except for an old Colt Commander)

I owned one Taurus, a G2C. Trigger spring broke before 50 rounds on first range trip. Tires or buy one but they insisted I send it in for a warranty repair. I did. Took 6 weeks to get it back. Sold it. I have owned five Ruger pistols over the past 20 years. Never had to have one repaired. Sometimes a bit more spent is worth it.
