Thinking of buying a Baby Eagle in 45 ACP. I've never owed any Eagle and know of no one who has! The pistol is NIB and would cost around $650 out the door. I would like to get more info from someone who has owned one and if you think the price is reasonable. Thanks for ANY help!

That's about an average price for them nowadays, way up from the ~$400 they were 8 or 10 years ago. Rock solid guns, made by Tanfoglio in Italy and finished by IWI. They're not the bargain they used to be, but are still fantastic pistols.

About the only thing I can say, being a big Tanfoglio fan, is that you cannot get one with a fuil-size slide. They all come with a medium slide on a full-size frame, or compact on a compact frame. The effect is to look something like the semi-compacts. They also are virtually impossible to get with a frame-mounted safety.
Having said that, I have owned one and it was a fine pistol. If it came with a frame-mounted safety, I would still own it.

That price is high. Check Bud's. Their price has gone up recently, but it's still a lot lower than what you've noted above. The Baby Eagle II in .45ACP is a difficult gun to accessorize, so keep that in mind as you make your decision.

I have two Baby Eagles, both 9mm. Very solid guns. My next pistol will probably be the BEII 40 S & W, but I frequent a shop that has the .45 and I may change my mind.

Not to nitpick here, but as a public service announcement, I'm required to say that they're (the "Baby Eagles) not any relation to the Desert Eagle in any way, shape or form. The "Baby Eagle" is actually the Israeli Jericho 941 pistol re-branded by Magnum Research as a marketing ploy. 
My son has one and to my knowledge has never had any problems what so ever with it. I've shot it several times and it handled well and shot very good and the accuracy was good as well. He has the steel version and it's a bit heavy for my taste and he said he wished he had gotten the polymer instead.

I owned one, sold it, and regretted it enough to look for a replacement. This January I put in an order with my favorite FFL. Three months later they still couldn't find me one. Hopefully somebody has one in stock somewhere these days, but I gave up on it and bought a S&W 4566. I don't regret the switch at all, the Smith is a solid pistol, but the coolest guy in my novels carries a Baby Eagle .45 so I need to get one again someday.
I would suggest that if you can't find the .45 in stock anywhere, go with the 9mm or .40. At the very least you get larger magazine capacity.

They are heavy for sure. Finish is not the greatest "feel" but the gun is a very quality piece. Would not fire Tula Steel very well at all. Almost every round was a double strike. Get better at the DA pull with that ammo though. Shoots flawlessly with WWB. Trigger curve is a bit painful during recoil at times. Recoil is pretty stout for the weight of the gun. Maybe it needs a stiffer spring?
