I am thinking of getting a Glock 33 357 sig barrel for my Glock 27 40cal.

Has anyone out there got real actual chrono results for their Glock 33 using factory loaded 357 sig ammo? I wonder if the 357sig suffers from the rapid drop in velocity like the 357 MAG does when you go to a short barrel.

I also have a Glock 35 40cal. Anyone put a 357sig barrel in it and chronoed some factory ammo? I suspect it might be a bit on the quick side.

I chronographed (with a real chrono) these velocities with my Glock 33:
FED 125 gr @ 1,272
Gold Dot 125 gr. @ 1,315
Cor-Bon 125 gr. @ 1,324

Thanks guys, I had looked everywhere for this info. Your velocities are much higher than what I get from my 2 inch 357 Mag revolver using 125 grain factory ammo.

I might go with a Glock 32 4 inch barrel and have about a 5/8th of an inch barrel out the front. I am wanting to hit in the 1400 area of velocity.

Sort of get a full size 357 mag in a ten shot baby Glock package.

I have a 32 and love it, I don't have a chrono "YET" but it's on my want list

Here is a photo showing My Glock 27 and my Rossi 2 inch 357 mag. As you can see they are similar in size and I use both for CCW.

Here are the velocity readings I got for the 2 inch 357 MAG. If you look at the velocities CDW4ME is getting from his Glock 33 you can see the advantage of the 357 sig over the 357 MAG from a CCW perspective.

Comparison:

Glock 33:
FED 125 gr @ 1,272
Gold Dot 125 gr. @ 1,315
Cor-Bon 125 gr. @ 1,324

Glock 32:
Fed 125 @ 1,332
Gold Dot 125 @ 1,334
Cor-Bon 125 @ 1,380

Ruger Speed Six 357 Mag with 3'' barrel:
Federal 125 JHP @ 1,248

The 357 Sig is equal to the 357 Mag with similar barrel lengths.

CDW4ME thanks for posting the Glock 32 readings. I went ahead and ordered a Glock 32 barrel for my Glock 27. So the barrel will stick out a bit from the frame. I also ordered a 6 inch 357 sig barrel for my Glock 35. That should be interesting.

Is Georgia Arms ammo reloaded ammo? The web site did not say.

I got the barrels in the mail. The 4 inch stainless barrel in the Glock 27 looks well...mean as all get out. It does not seem to alter my CCW carry style. The Glock 35 with the stainless six inch barrel looks cool. The 35 has a cut out on the to of the slide so the stainless barrel gives it a pretty cool race gun look.

I will have to get to the range and try all this out, I'll post my findings.

I also have a Glock 35 40cal. Anyone put a 357sig barrel in it and chronoed some factory ammo? I suspect it might be a bit on the quick side.
It will do well, Have a Glock 24 with a KKM 6" 357 Sig barrel. It is among my favorite guns to shoot. Using 125 Grain bullets and Longshot powder I easily get 1514 FPS average on a 5 shot string with its favorite load. Its not even a max load according to the book, just where it groups best.

Great link Pulse, wish they had 10mm though ...

And Georgia Arms has told me that all their handgun ammo is loaded on new brass, not reloaded.
