back at the range w/my Colt Navy

went back to the range today with my new Pietta 1851 Colt Navy.

I experimented with several loads, filler (corn meal) and wonder wads using a .376 ball. I settled on 18 grains of fffg (Goex) with two wonder wads. A little bore butter on each cylinder also helped reduce fouling. I also had rubbed some bore butter into the cylinder pin before hand. I was able to get off 36 rounds with no problems. the gun never seized up and the action remained smooth.

All shots were from 25 yards offhand.

This was only my second time shooting a pistol so my lack of accuracy I think has more to do with my inability to keep my arm straight consistently!
