Just returned from the range with my brand new Ruger SP101 2.25" .357 snubbie and it was a pleasure to shoot. It has the Crimson Trace grips, but I was mainly shooting with the iron sights. First used Federal .38 sp 130 gr hardball, then Fiocci 142 gr .357 Magnum hardball. Shot 100 rounds of .38 sp, 50 rounds .357 Mag.
My hand doesn't hurt, there was no discomfort during shooting, the accuracy was excellent, 5-7" groups at 7 meters, and the stock trigger felt fine, although different than my S&W's. The SP101 trigger stacked (predictably) then broke cleanly, as opposed to the S&W's with a more uniform pull throughout its travel.
