Shot my new SP101 21/4" barrel spurless a few days ago. It fired flawlessly with Remington UMC 130 gr. fmj 38's, and Federal 130 gr. 357 personal defense.
Recoil is about what you would expect.

I did notice something though, The fmj load shot about a foot low at 7 yards. The mag load shot only 3 to 4 " low at the same distance. I guess a heavier practice load is in my future, plus a set of Crimson Trace laser grips.

My SP101 snub is right on with 158 grain 357's, but shoots low with 130 grain .357's or 38's.

My wife iis right on with 129 grain 38's.

I think it has to do with muzzle rise and strength of grip.

Try 158 grainers.

I have Crimson

Bodman,

I have Crimson grips on a M649 357mag and a M625 45 ACP. Both are tack drivers at respective distances the 649 I have sighted for 18yrds and the 625 is sighted in for 25yrds.

Before I ever put the Crimson grips to work though I could keep all in the 10 ring at 7 yrds with the 649 and the 625 shot out of the box in the 9 to ten range at 25 yrds.

It is just practice, practice and more practice and between live fire do a lot of dry firing just to get the feel of the pistol

Also when you get the crimson grips on do a lot of point and shot practice dry fire and live fire. It trains you in a whole new form of shooting. I have seen point and shooters bang plates all day long.

I also have the hammerless SP101. Mine likes 158s, and did pretty good with the lighter 120 and 130 bullets as well.

Free Tip: Buy a set of Wolf Springs for it, and install the 10# spring. Helps the trigger pull a bunch!!

Did you think the Federal 130 Personal Defense loads had a sharp recoil? They were quite...brisk for me.

I also have the spurless. If I was limited to one gun that would be it. It hits where I aim carries well enough and is powerfull enough for most anything with 2 or 4 legs. Mine prefers the 158's.
