It's beautiful in person - but I thought I'd share. Too bad I was already at the range yesterday when this came. Can't wait to take it out next week.

I've got to put on my new S&W500 Hogue Grips today as well. Overall this is one of my favorite guns I've ever owned.

I've got 329pd and I am excited to see if the porting makes a difference. The recoil hasn't bothered me with the rubber grips, but I would like faster follow up shots.

The four ports on top will help felt recoil significantly.

I dont like ports, but they have a valid use. I had the four ports done on a 475 Linebaugh, Freedom Arms revolver once and the four ports was a great help for my 14 year old son. I noticed about a 40% recoil reduction.

You'll notice that the hotter loads you shoot, the less recoil you'll feel. Super hot loads will actually generate less FELT recoil than the average 240gr. JHP stuff. This is because the hotter loads generate much more gas and therefore activate the ports better. Load it hot, you wont mind.

Recoil wasn't especially bad, but man this really makes it smooth. I shot a box of 50 44 mag range ammo today and it was almost as smooth as my 1911 .45ACP - almost. Deadly accurate gun though.
