I almost bought an Ultra Carry ll today for my my first .45. I have been wanting one for a long time, and I think that they are beautiful looking guns. I went and held one today though and and backed out. The grip has a sharp edge on the bottom back side that cuts into my palm when I am holding the gun let alone shooting it. Has anyone else noticed this?

YES! Many 1911 grips will do this to me, expecially my buddies ultra cdp. Nothing a little fine grit sandpaper can't take care of in about 2 minutes. I have smoothed out that area on both wooden and micarta grips, makes a big difference to me and it doesn't look bad when done right, just go slow as it doesn't take much rounding to make that grip comfortable. Or just get you some $20 hogue or ergo grips.

Yes, got use to it. Although I'm gonna get a set of tactical grips on it to help round out the bottom of the grip.

Desert gator...I have been carrying a Kimber UCC II for the last year or so. I have gone through well over 3,000 round with it. Yes...At first I notice a bit of a bite at the heel of my hand from the heel of the smallish grip. But a fine file and some real fine wet/dry sand paper solved that.

This is a very accurate and pleasent gun to shot. I own a Colt 1911 (full sized) that my wife does not like to shoot, but the Kimber, to her, is a blast...You may have messed up on that decision.
