I hunt and guns weigh a bit, not a ton but a bit. Now the way that I hunt I don't regularly need the gun while walking to/from the blind and so it is not at the ready, just slung. So I got to thinking how can I make carrying a firearm more comfortable in the woods when it is not in use. I use a sling and the uneven weight is not comfortable over more than a very short distance, also it's not a healthy habit.

I came upon the idea of how a backpack sits, and I mean a real camp pack not a school backpack. It sits on your hips and distributes the weight into your legs properly, extremely healthy and comfortable.

Has anyone ever seen, or would you be interested in a system that take a firearm and distribute the weight like a camp pack onto the hips and legs? Something like a custom clamp system for an external pack frame.

That's better. I was thinking the gun behind me actually.

The initial idea was hatched with an un-cocked crossbow in mind but looking at that it seems I could work it for a crossbow if I wanted. Good thing I asked here instead of trying to make something that someone else already had done better.
