Been reading "Boston's Gun Bible". He really recommends back up spare parts, such as springs, firing pins, retaining pins, etc. for everything you have. I agree that breaking or losing parts would be bad . Although I have never had an AR break a firing pin, both in military, nor as a civie, and have never known anyone else to experience it, I guess it would be a good idea to have one or two back ups.

For AR, I have a complete back up of springs ( no firing pins yet, I will acquire ).

I am new to FAL and I reeeeeealy like it.

My questions (for AR, FAL, & any others you feel like) are as follows:
What spare parts do y'all recommend
What quantities
Which firing pin for FAL (metric) - DSA shows a 2 pc, & 1 pc
Which suppliers do you prefer

All replies will be sincerely appreciated, and am sure will be helpful to others.

Regards, Stoner

I did exactly what Steely Dan did. Order Bushmaster's spare parts kit.

For the FAL, go to DSA's site and see what they offer; if I remember right (no guarantees) they carry a spring kit. http://www.dsarms.com

You might try TAPCO too. They carry lots of parts for the FAL. But be prepared not to be kissed before they add shipping charges. :scrutiny: http://www.tapco.com
