Bad FedEx experience

I recently had to send my brand new Colt SAA back to the factory (that's another story) for warranty service. Of course, the shippers have us all by the short hairs for overnight shipping at about $50 a pop.

Of course, I'm tracking the progress of the shipment on teh web ane see that it's delivered as promised. However, FedEx delivers my package (along with three other guns), to the wrong address. I know this because Colt denies delivery, noting that the person signing for the packages doesn;t work for Colt. FedEx swears up and down that Colt has them, and they have proof of delivery.

Well, well.....turns out that FedEx delivered next door to Colt and the packages were just sitting there. Colt security had to go next door and retrieve them. Luckily, none of the packages were opened.

I also just spoke with FedEx and reminded them that they owe me a full refund on the guaranteed shipping.

Some premium service. It's just a gold-plated turd, no better than regular ground, only more expensive.

That's surprising. I have my own Fed Ex account because over the years both US Postal Service and UPS have lost multiple packages for me or my employer, but Fed Ex has always been 100% reliable for me. Sorry to hear of your trouble.

Sorry to hear about your bad experieince. I would note though I ship over 150 packages a month via Fed Ex with minimal problems..

Now the USPS on the other hand :banghead:

Fed-ex comes to my house about twice a week...never had a problem with them...Even though I dont have an account, the fed-ex dude is courteus and professtional...Didnt even laugh when I came to the door wearing my boxers and a smile..

USPS I have had troubles with, more than once..

UPS=PITB to deal with...I as a rule, dont use them anymore unless I REALLY have no choice...

I agree with azrael and wildalaska 100% on this one. Fed ex has always treated me right, USPS messes it up every way possible, and the UPS service is horrible and have been downright rude with me before. Ill stick with fedex for my shipping needs. Plus, Fedex drivers are usually willing to chat about guns, unlike the ups driver for my area who looks at me like I have two heads and am evil incarnate.

You might want to consider setting up an account. It doesn't cost anything extra, they will send you pre-printed mailing labels for free, and you can get a 10% discount if you print your own labels off your computer. I have been very happy with the setup, and found it extremely convenient.

Y'all please keep using FedEx. Maybe then they can afford to give me more raises. BTW, as an employee, I'm glad to hear that most of you are generally happy with FedEx.

FWIW...

FedEx has independent owners that have the routes. "FedEx" is only as good or bad as the person wearing the uniform.

Kinda like saying "McDonalds always gives lousy service because I got bad service one place one time"

I typically find FedEX gives better service because the delivery person may actually lose money if they lose client base. You got a crap deal but at least it came out all right
