I am on another gunsite and I reposted what the op posted here. Two of the guys called Fed Ex and they said they had heard nothing like this. One lady said she always gets emails well in advance of any changes. So I don't know who is correct. Just FYI

Just FYI......in my OP I posted the link to the FeDEx Service Guide.
That FedEx Service Guide shows FedEx Express tariffs on firearms on pg 125. FedEx Ground tariffs on firearms is on pg 157.

Purely my speculation. This may be in response to their policy of last mile delivery by US Post Office for packages that aren't next day. In my area they made thia change last year and service has become terrible. Our post offices are way understaffed and have serious issues with neglect and theft. I have gotten to the point of insisting on UPS and Amazon Corp deliveries only. Too many fedex 2-day and fedex ground items end up getting lost or seriously delayed at the post office. The firearm policies requiring ffls would put it in line with the USPS rules.

That is the way I do it also , UPS is easy to deal with . They pick it up and bring it back, No FFL involved on my end . I live out in the sticks , saves me time and money by having the driver pick it up .
Me, too....I live in the sticks, also.....UPS gives us very good service. fedex not so good. Some drivers just throw pkgs over my fence. UPS always delivers them to dry area under my house, which is on 10’ piers.
