You guys & gals here in Non-Firearms Weapons are bad influences on me, and I'm pretty sure on each other too. I just picked up a Case Sodbuster Jr. (very nice, extremely sharp) based on what I read here, and I have a half page list of knives that I'm interested in getting at some point. All thanks to you guys:) Oh well, it's still cheaper than buying more firearms, and more useful to me day-to-day than a firearm.

I'm pretty sure that list will be growing, and I know that you all will give your sage advice on anything being considered. It seems like most people here have a higher knowledge base and experience base with edged weapons. Your insight is much appreciated.

Thanks for bringing me into a new hobby, knife collecting :D

You got off way, way too cheap. Take a gander at these, only $400 with a sheath! :D

Yep..just stick with Case brand for your slipjoint needs.

And remember old yucky USA Schrades are not worth your time or money.

(I don't need any more competion)

Oh, Dude!

What is that thing lower left?

A 4-blade Stockman with punch?

Hmm, no, it doesn't have a sheepsfoot.

Oh, man, what IS that? And do they still make it?

64047P - It's one variation of a 47 pattern stockman - 3 7/8" long. They did make some pen blade versions of that pattern - there's a 3 blade in that pic too. The 4 blade w/ punch model always has a pen blade and the muskrat shape clip

I have a couple of them. They are hard to find with no issues - they have a tendency to have a weak blade or two. The one pictured below is almost perfect, but not red bone.

They don't make any of the 47 patterns anymore. Truthfully, the handiest one is the 2 blade one.

Is there a Administer in the house?

Zip7 heavily contributed to the problem...

Arf is again running around, and drooling all over the darn place, carrying on and ...

Would one you Admins please check on the boy?

*rofl*

Like Todd, Schrades are my focus but I never met a quality knife I didnt like.
And I even like some B and C list knives.
It just goes on and on.......

I notice the Doctor's knives don't get much love around here, but they tend to be my favorite slips.

To keep with Slippies, you could then move over to Laguiole knives

Of course, that still doesn't get into customs. Talk about a whole other mess of trouble. :what:

Soon, when you realise that you have an illness you won't be laughing.

Mine started less than a year ago with USA Schrades...

My focus on Schrades didn't last long. I have Camillus,Case,Imperial,Boker,
Robeson, Ulster,Craftsman,Sta-Sharp,Wards and Western made slipjoints as well. Plus a few fixed blades and "tacticals" laying around.

Be sure to keep us informed of your spiral into addict...ummmmm :uhoh: I mean collection progress ;)

bad influence?

How can "investing" in fine knives, no longer made, and which will probably increase in value be an addiction?

At least that what I tell the wife!

Among ourselves we know better.

Bikerdoc, I don't think even that'll work know that I put a Beretta Bobcat on layaway.

I'll try it anyway :D

JTW JR., what is the little tiny push dagger looking thing with the lanyard in the fixed blade photo?

that is a Ken Brock " hole knife ".
It was made from the remants of the pieces that were waterjet cut from the handles of the Hideaway Knives if I recall correctly. I got it from him years ago. It's small and hides nicely in a coin pocket.
