Hey folks -

Thanks to the unfortunate misplacement of my beloved little Sodbuster Jr., I'm in the market for a new everyday blade.

My first thought was to simply go ahead and pick up another Sodbuster Jr., but I've been looking at a lot of Youtube reviews of the CRKT Gallagher Glide-Lock and it's starting to really speak to me. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get my hands on one yet to check it out in person.

I did a search and found a short thread on them here from 2008, but I'm hoping to get a some more recent info.

So, from those of ya'll who have experience with them, how would you rate the Glide-Lock as an everyday pocket knife? My primary needs are the usual - cutting string/twine, opening boxes, some light food prep...etc. I'm not -very- rough on knives, but I would like what I carry to hold up for as long as possible without needing adjustment/repair.

I really like the Sodbuster design, and will probably get another one anyway (except in CV this time) but if the Glide-Lock is good to go, I'll be visiting the local blade merchant and purchasing one for myself.

Thanks!

Clever opening system, but annoying until you get the hang of it. Then it's smooth.

Nope

I liked playing with it, but didn't do so long enough to learn more than you could get to be quick with it.
