Has anyone given consideration to the fact that most of the guns bought are by folks that are not hardcore enthusiasts, don't shoot much at all, and don't know the difference between a grip safety and a manual safety?
For these people, the guns made today far exceed their needs. For the true enthusiast of firearms (most of "us"), we are more observant of our weapons, look equally for perfection and faults, and expect more than the average Joe.
In this scenario, all faults are glaring for "us".
