on top of a crappy day at work, which led me to believe that a trip to the range would makes things a little better. ya right.
the main reason i went was becuase my girlfriend was going to go see her friends for a little girly time, so i figured i'd go shooting. she didn't go last night, its tonight that she'll be gone. oops. strike one. since she called after i had already paid my range fee, she gave me her blessing to keep shooting to my heart's content. good thing she's a cool gal.
practiced with the USP/C, which functioned flawlessly as usual. then went to play with the Sub 2000. found that the mag that came with it had a flaw in the recess for the mag catch. i fired, it popped out, bounced of the table and hit me right in the OUCH!!! 5 minute break, discover the defect and switch to a brand new factory Glock mag i had just bought a few days ago. something went haywire with that one too and the bolt decided it would try to chamber the follower. DANG IT!! disassemble mags and use good parts from both to make one functional magazine. throw away busted parts. (there goes another $20)
Kel-Tec starts stovepiping. DANG IT!! switch ammo, seems to cure it. i was using Fiocci. the bolt seems to cycle so fast that the ejected shell doesn't have time to get out of the way. seems ok from then on. that thing is a hoot. i just ordered the Scherer 33 round mag for it.
get home with water blister on my thumb knuckle so of course i have to squeeze it cuz i'm a guy and thus gross. it squirted me in the forehead. DANG IT! GROSS!
decide to clean my guns. disassemble the USP/C and find that the the C-clip that holds the captive recoil spring on the guide rod is gone. so of course i get the SPROOOING! and chase the spring all over the place. DANG IT!! at least the gun works just fine without it. just makes it a pain to put back together. whilst cleaning and grumbling about having to call H&K on Monday, i managed to get Birchwood Casey's Gun Scrubber to spray back in my eye. OUCH!!! run to the kitchen and stick my face under the faucet for a while cursing. that stuff BURNS!!
finally get done cleaning only to discover that Gun Scrubber will melt the plastic that the front sight of Sub 2000 is made of. so now i have a gooey white-ish front sight on my Sub 2000. DANG IT!!! now i have to call Kel-Tec and order a new one of those too!!
at least i was done. i watched some Discovery Wings and went to bed. not my day. i'm have plans to go flying on Sunday. maybe i should reconsider.
just wanted to vent. thanks all. have a good weekend.
