I bought a Charter Arms Undercover .38 Special a few years ago and put a few cylinders through it and put it up in the safe until I shot it yesterday. With a newly cleaned weapon, the weapon jammed after the second round. Feeling it was unsafe to shoot, I put it up until I could look at it. I cleaned it again before checking it, and found that the timing may be off. When the trigger is pulled, the cylinder will not fully rotate into position about 50% of the time. With the cylinder out, the revolver functions fine and all parts move but it only jams up with cylinder in battery.
I know this is bad, but is there anything that can be done or is it junk metal?
Edit: In single action mode, the weapon performs fine but only in double action does it jam up.
