Bad timing on Charter Arms?

I bought a Charter Arms Undercover .38 Special a few years ago and put a few cylinders through it and put it up in the safe until I shot it yesterday. With a newly cleaned weapon, the weapon jammed after the second round. Feeling it was unsafe to shoot, I put it up until I could look at it. I cleaned it again before checking it, and found that the timing may be off. When the trigger is pulled, the cylinder will not fully rotate into position about 50% of the time. With the cylinder out, the revolver functions fine and all parts move but it only jams up with cylinder in battery.

I know this is bad, but is there anything that can be done or is it junk metal?

Edit: In single action mode, the weapon performs fine but only in double action does it jam up.

I'd spray it out with Gunscrubber, then lube it and see if it still does it (dry fire only).

If it still does, (or if you've already tried that) call Charter Arms and send it back.

CajunBass . Good advise. To many never clean and lube them internally. Even the star at the rear of the cylinder and the rod the cylinder rides on get over looked to often .
