Baikal

I also have an early 2000s SxS in 12 gauge that is double trigger. A nice gun that will probably never have any mechanical issues, but due to its low weight and gauge tends to "kill on both ends." I need to shoot it more for trap to really get used to it even though I mostly prefer 20 gauge.

I also own a Baikal combo in .22/.410. I tend to find .410 a frustrating proposition, but I do like my poor man's drillings.

That combo has got to be sweet.

Well, a drilling has three barrels, so your combo gun isn't a drilling, no matter how much money you have...

The problem with Savage 24's is, they are so poorly regulated...

It's rare that both bbls shoot to the same point of aim, and you have to aim over there to hit over here, that's totally unacceptably to me. The best you can do is to sight the rifle bbl. in and aim where ever you have to, for the shot bbl...

Now, with the Savage 2400 (made by Valmet) they solved "that", and a few other problems the 24's have, but I really hate single trigger combo guns...

De gustibus non disputandam, as I tell the kids. I have fun with my 24 early season. The shotgun barrel is so tightly choked that I ended up developing a spreader load for it, but otherwise it does the job. After early season the game gets wary and my eyesight leaves a lot to be desired so I generally switch to a scoped rifle or a repeater shotgun, but the 24 is great for bumming around the woods.

I've also got a Savage Model 24V, .222/20Ga. and what I did I put see thru mounts on the gun and used it for quail and coyotes, when the coyotes out here were over running the quail. I can still see the front sight for honing in on flushing quail, but look up to the scope for a distant coyote. It worked really good for me, as I got a decent bag of quail, and even coyotes during a morning hunt.

My Savage 24V .30-30 over 12ga; I mounted a Williams peep rear sight that without the insert is a ghost ring.
OK regulation for woodswalking.

Yes, some shotgun barrels will print slugs and birdshot to different POI.
