A friend has a Bair Kodiak 150 reloading press, real oldtimer. Very heavy duty compound press, should swage bullets with no problem. Anybody know about what he should ask for this? Thanks.

depends on a few things. As the press alone is actually worth about as much as you can get from a metal scrap yard. In order for it to be worth anything a few things have to be met.

1. what kind of shell holders does it take. Are they still available.

2. What is the size of the threads and diameter of the hole to accept dies.

3. How user friendly is it.

If you can not find shell holders you may have a fighting chance to still sell it. If you can use moder shell holders then you have a winner. If you could identify what kind of shell holders will work on it your a king.

If the hole on top is the correct thread pitch and diameter to accept moder dies your in business. If not good luck.

How does it look. How does it work. If it looks like junk guess what. If its in good working order not missing anything then your in business.

There a few people that purchase old presses clean them up paint them and bring them back to life. a few are members on this board. But those conditions have to be met. Unless the buyer already has shell holders and dies that will fit the press.

If I remember correctly it is/was compairable to a Rock Chucker, Orange Crusher and LNL so the used price should be on the low side of those used presses. Low because Bair has been out of business for a long time and no parts are available, plus it really never had the market appeal of the other makes.

Maybe $50 if it's in really good, clean shape?
