Hi all. I am running out of ballistic gelatin powder and I don't have plans to buy any more. There is enough powder available to do three more tests. I want to keep what I'm going to do as a surprise, but I do have one favor to ask anyone who sees this message:

Please make me a dozen or so dead soft, 50 grain(or thereabouts) .25ACP bullets. I can't justify spending the $200 on the lead casting equipment just to test one bullet in gelatin. Essentially, I have in mind a load that should allow the .25ACP mousegun to fire an expanding bullet to FBI-standard depths.

Yes, the .25ACP might not be as bad as the 'story goes'. I used to believe the 'experts' that pocket pistols cannot perform, much less meet IWBA standards. I started testing gelatin just to verify/disprove this, and I have so far for the .380ACP and recently, the .32ACP. Now, I would like to take on the .25ACP. If you liked the gelatin results, please help out your fellow THR members and me by helping me get a hold of enough .25ACP bullets to develop a load and test in gelatin.

Thank you.

John

Sorry, I would if I could. I think I have a mold for a .258" bullet but it is around 85 grains. Too much for the ACP for sure. But now I see where the drilled hollowpoint question comes from. Good luck.

OK. Griz has talked to me about this, but his mold would produce bullets that require some modification so I'm still looking for what is available.

So, if you have 30 dead soft lead 50 grain .25ACP bullets, I will test one round of whatever bullet you want in ballistic gelatin in trade.

Thank you.

Couldn't get this on a PM so posting here. FWIW, the jacketed bullet is a 35 gr. 25 cal JHP.
