Hi all. I am running out of ballistic gelatin powder and I don't have plans to buy any more. There is enough powder available to do three more tests. I want to keep what I'm going to do as a surprise, but I do have one favor to ask anyone who sees this message:
Please make me a dozen or so dead soft, 50 grain(or thereabouts) .25ACP bullets. I can't justify spending the $200 on the lead casting equipment just to test one bullet in gelatin. Essentially, I have in mind a load that should allow the .25ACP mousegun to fire an expanding bullet to FBI-standard depths.
Yes, the .25ACP might not be as bad as the 'story goes'. I used to believe the 'experts' that pocket pistols cannot perform, much less meet IWBA standards. I started testing gelatin just to verify/disprove this, and I have so far for the .380ACP and recently, the .32ACP. Now, I would like to take on the .25ACP. If you liked the gelatin results, please help out your fellow THR members and me by helping me get a hold of enough .25ACP bullets to develop a load and test in gelatin.
Thank you.
