Chronograph malfunction gave impact velocity of ‘1055 ft/sec’.

How do you know it's a chronograph malfunction and not erratic velocities?

Given that the penetration was similar to the other shots, I'd say it was a chronograph malfunction.

I use an Oehler 35P chronograph for the gelatin testing. It is my understanding that the display will blink on and off with a reading that was not verified by passage through all three skyscreens. I think this was the case, due to the shooting taking place at dusk.
