This served as a small reminder (if any were needed) that ''things'' can happen ... anywhere. Happened two days ago ... small village, not much happens .. in fact whole region pretty good on the whole, compared to some.

Schellsburg bank robbed:

State police are looking for three men in a gray mid-size car who were involved in a bank robbery at First National Bank of Pennsylvania's Schellsburg branch around 4:18 p.m. Wednesday. Police said two men, both apparently in their 20s, entered the bank and demanded money. They had stockings pulled over their heads; one displayed a handgun. The third suspect remained in the car, which fled south on Route 96. Police said the men were seen in the area, wearing baseball caps, prior to the robbery. Anyone with information is asked to call police at (814) 623-6133.
The guys chose their time well ... but who is to say someone might have walked in on them .. or got in their way as they exited to escape. Not my bank but, one branch I use of another bank was ''done'' only a few weeks ago.

Good reason to be carrying without fail .... as always.

''Never assume'' ... anything.

Tell me about it! Things are "happening" more and more every day here. A 64 YO woman put out a contract hit for two LEOs this week. They had busted her daughter in a drug sweep. Things are getting weird.

I don't have my CHL but my bank here in Huntsville has the Legal 30.06 sign posted. Thankfully I have direct deposit and they charge you for using the tellers more than 3 times. Unlimited ATM use though. BUT, I would be more wary around the ATM, especially at night. Someone might see that as a better chance than knocking off the bank.

Yup, the same thing happened to me a few years ago. The Wells Fargo I ALWAYS go to was robbed, and of all the banks, my city is relatively small in comparison to the neighboring cities, so it struck me as very surprising.

It even ended with a high speed pursuit.

Things can happen anywhere. I still go to that bank since its the bank I've been going to ever since I first had a bank account.

For reference this is the bank robbery in Villa Park, California.
