Alas, Barnes does not produce the grenade in anything greater than 6mm. Is there any comparable bullet out their for varmint shooting/reloading with a 30. cal?

On a related note, how much retention does the varmint grenade have? Are there bullets out there that have 0% retention?

The Barnes MPG is has very similar performance in .30 cal. Weight retention, what weight retention?

By retention I assume you're meaning, the bullet not leaving the body of the varmint ?

Yes there a plenty of designs out there, some are partialy striated jacketed HP's.

One I have used in the .308 Winchester is the 125 gr TNT HP from Speer #1986, they have a very thin deeply striated jacket and a deep hollow cavity, they are not for velocities above 3100 fps.

If you're not a fur hunter and really holding a grudge on ole Wiley these will give you satisfaction, and they won't go bouncing off into the next county. But it takes a real big groundhog , and if your going after p-dogs or ground squirrels you better be sure of your backstop.
