I'm having a heck of a time finding any info regarding reloading .223 rem with 50 grain Varmint Grenade bullets using Benchmark powder. The website only shows a couple of different powders. Any advise on where to look would be appreciated as I can't find anything in the Barnes manual either.

RLee,

try stevespages he has generic info for Benchmark and 50gr bullets with Remington 71/2 primers

Problem is, Varmint Grenade's are not generic bullets.

You can get jacketed 50 grain bullet info out of any reloading manual.

Varmint Grenade's are a copper-tin composite sintered core surrounded by a guilding-metal jacket, and behave differently.

They are much longer for weight and have a longer bearing surface then a lead-core bullet.

I called Barnes to ask about other powder info, and IIRC, Benchmark wasn't one they had data on. Of course, I absolutely may be mistaken.

I do know that it was easy and painless to just call them up though. Their contact info is easy to find on their web page.

I e-mailed them a few days ago and haven't recieved a response as of yet. A phone call may be the way to go.

They had data on Varget by calling them that is not listed on the site. It just so happens that the Varget data is almost identical to the same bullet weights in the other manuals. The VG's are a little longer than a lead core bullet for their weight.
