I tried out my new Barra Schofield today. Great gun, but disappointing accuracy. The gun feels and functions JUST like an original, except for a much lighter and smoother action and incredible trigger. Functionally I’m very impressed. Accuracy with copperhead BBs was a bit of a letdown. At 6 yards which is the distance between my kids trampoline and the back fence, I had a 6” group shooting freehand and somewhat rushed. I was just trying to get shots in before I went to the dump to haul off an old fridge and dryer that died on us right before Christmas. This is my first time shooting it and I put about 40 shots through it. Had plenty of CO2 left for more shooting but was running out of time.
So here’s the poop:
+++Great fun shooting this gun.
—— Loading is a slow process
+/- accuracy is OK
+++ Can play Clint Eastwood and blast away in my neighborhood
+++ noise is such that my middle daughter did hear me outside her bedroom window, but barely. Neighbor got the mail when I did and he did not hear it.
Overall outlay is $107 for the gun plus a bulk package of BBs at $8 and a bulk box of co2 cartridges at $18. Basically $140.
Would I do it again, yes. The gun looks like a good replica. It’s fun to shoot. I will get my moneys worth of enjoyment out of it. First impression is maybe a B-plus. Online reviews say that the pellet shells help so I will buy those and see how that changes things.
