barrel length in .257 Weatherby

How much performance is lost in a 24" Vanguard barrel as opposed to the 26" Mark V barrel in .257 Weatherby Mag? Is muzzle blast increased quite a bit?

While the 24" will work, the 26" is better in this case. I think it loses 75fps per inch BTW.
