Hello folks. I hope everybody is warm indoors, coz its FREEEEzing outside. Anyway, I am looking into the near future and hoping to change the barell of my Remington 870 pump 20 gauge with an 18" barrel into a clay shooting shotgun. My wife and I have never got into this and am hoping to start this sometime spring.

Remington is selling the 21" and 26" barrel for my shotgun. What do you more experienced folks recommend? Thanks for you responses.

BP,

"clay shooting" is a bit broad. For Skeet I suggest the 26" barrel. For Sporting Clays a 28" would be a good compromise and for trap a 30" even better.

Regards,

TB

Yep! That's about right. A good compromise all around if you are not sure which clay game you will be playing is 28". 28" barrels are very common and probably easier and cheaper to come by than some others.

Good luck with your planned new hobby. Guard your wallet! You can have as much fun as your budget will let you spend! :)

I am that brand new into that sport. My wife stands only 5'1" and weighs 105 pounds. I hope the 26" barrel won't be too heavy for her.
