Does anyone know where I might get a Muzzle loader barrel rebored , from a 50 cal to a 54 cal ...It `s on an old TX. made Mowrey rifle and I want all the ser# to stay matching , or I`d just replace the barrel .../ any suggestions other than BigIronBarrel works .

Ask over in the gun builder's section. They know just about every builder on the planet. I'm sure you'll get plenty of referrels. :)

I had a liner installed in one of my muzzleloaders by Lee Shaver, at Lamar, Missouri. That is cheaper than replacing the barrel and probably cheaper than re-boring, too. You can't tell by looking that anything has changed at all unless you know what Alexander Henry rifling looks like. ( The barrel is stamped "Alexander Henry Rifling" and the rifling in the liner isn't.)

Lee is one of the nicest folks you'd ever meet. I was at his shop a couple of weeks ago to get a set of his sights mounted on a Sharps. My wife was along and she loves old victorian houses. I don't remember how it came up, but Lee had just bought a neat old house just a couple of blocks from his shop, and when he learned she was into them, he took us to his house and gave us a tour. I only became acquainted with him this past year when I bought the first set of sights from him, and drove there (three hours for me) rather than trying to do the whole mail thing, so it's not like we're old friends. It just tells you how he is to his customers.

There would probably be someone closer who could do your re-line if that's what you opt to do, but if not, here's Lee's website.
