Barrels for LR-308

I am building a DPMS-pattern .308 lower, because I want it set up a particular way. The problem I am finding is that I can't find the parts options I want for uppers. Particularly, I want a .243 upper like the one on the Panther LR-243L, (lightweight comped barrel, carbon fiber tube,) but I don't see just the upper or the barrel for sale. Is the DPMS website not showing all of the options, will they sell me just the upper or barrel? I can't find a barrel option like that anywhere else.

That just gets you the barrel, barrel extension, gas block, and the installation on your furnished receiver.
You will need to furnish all the other hardware that needs to go on the upper.

I plan on using one of the Krieger for my .308 build and installing it myself, but what I am looking for is a LIGHTWEIGHT .243 barrel.

I would be surprised if Krieger would be unwilling to turn the barrel to whatever profile you want.
Have you called them?

If Krieger won't turn the O.D. to your specs, ADCO will.

Not yet. I was basing it on their web listing. But if it's already $500 (uninstalled,) Throwing it back in the lathe to chop off another few pounds probably won't be cheap either.

You can always call Bushmaster to see if they will sell you just a barrel.
Might be cheaper, but after you have the phone experience with them, you might wish you had called somebody else for a custom order.

I bet Ed Vanden Berg in Texas can do one up for you from a Shilen blank for less than Krieger, and with less facepalm than trying to milk one out of Bushmaster.

Ed has done a couple guns for me. Great jobs every time.
