I have a Model 700™ XCR™ Tactical Long Range, that I just purchased. I got a Kahles 3.5X10X50 scope for it. I looked at other scopes but the clarity sold me.

Now I'm left to getting mounts, I've looked around and noticed that there seems to be a huge disparity in the cost of different mounts. Leupold mounts will run about $100 and if you go into Nightforce, Badger or U.S Optics mounts the price goes way up. So my question is, since I'm just starting out, probably just going to shoot from time to time at first. Might get a more appropriate setup if I get serious or....?

What the biggest concern when purchasing the mounts?

One piece or two piece mount base? Most people seem to think one piece, but I've heard a few vaying opinions.

There has been a lot of suggestion on Seekins rings. My only concern is by steel and aluminum contact problems. I've also looked at Warnes Maxima Tactical, they're pretty clean, but no one has mentioned them and they have a little different clamping mechanism.

I've talked to a couple people and have heard varying views, was just hoping for some suggestions and things to think about.

Thanks.

Talley, Burris have been good to me.

I think most go with 1 piece mount for tactical rifles. You going to get a 20MOA mount for 1000 yard shots?

Just thought I'd finish up with what I got. I went with Seekins rings and 20 MOA base. They have worked out real nice so far. I'll post a picture when I get a chance.

Seen some1 else comented on this older post. which would be better in terms of accuracy, a bridge mount or a picatinny rail
