If the proposals for the famous "sensible regulations" worked then you would expect a strong negative correlation between high Brady grades and low violence. In fact if you regress statistics for gun violence on Brady grades you get a weak, non-significant positive correlation, that is high Brady grades and high levels of violence (think, Vermont vs Chicago).
And in any case, expecting a crazy like Lanza to respect and abide by any laws is, well, crazy.
