Dang, I was going to go to bed after work tomorrow morning. Guess sleep will have to wait until after a trip to Opry Mills. If they do sell out, bring a flyer to Wally-World, they'll match the price, they've been doing it with the CCI Blazer 9mm now that Academy has it for 3.99 a box.

MDers, I went to get some today and I was told that they are not only out, but the backlog of rain checks means that I won't get mine for 2-4 weeks. Oh well, for 38.80 for a case of 9mm I'll wait. Unfortunately my local Bass Pro Shop (Arundel Mills, near Ft. Meade and Columbia) has a one case limit per person.

Thanks! Maybe gonna make it up this weekend. Thinking about adding another 9mm (pistol) to the collection to go with the additional ammo.

I was at the Arundel Mills location on Saturday (3 May), and they gave me a raincheck for 2 cases (40 boxes). No one said anything about a one case limit. In fact, when the guy said, "How many do you want?", I think I could have said "200," and he would have written it down.

Depends on who you get, I guess.

ScottS,

Well, there were signs everywhere so it is currently the store's policy. I remember someone on here mentioning that there was no official Bass Pro Shop policy to limit the amount, but some people were speaking of buying thousands of rounds and others had limits and someone here said that it was up to the store to put a limit or not on the amount you can buy. My guess, the MD store had no limit for a while, but after seeing demand, and probably after some people buying thousands of rounds and now having a wait list that could stretch into a month or more, they decided sometime into the sale that they wanted to set a limit.

What I'm now wondering though, they do take your name and info for the rain check so they can contact you. However, they are just putting it on a slip and putting it with the stack so checking for duplicates wouldn't be labor efficient. What would stop someone from going back a couple days later and filling out another rain check? So long as they didn't get such a huge shipment that they called you on both rain checks the same day you should be fine.

Chaim,

I'm not surprised there seems to be more than one "version." When I got there, I asked one employee where the ammo was, and he said, "Going to get some of that great 9mm, right?" When I got to the counter, the sales guy knew there was a sale on Winchester, but wasn't sure if they had any left. (The were sold out twice already by this point). I told him I heard they were substituting UMC (heard it here), and he had to look around before I pointed out the sign on the counter by the register that said, in big letters, "SUBSTITUTE UMC 9MM FOR WINCHESTER." Then he started looking for the UMC. After looking for 5 minutes or so, another sales guy came up and said they were long sold out of UMC. That's when he took my raincheck and said, "How many do you want?" I'm sure that if you got this guy, he'd stand under a giant "ONE CASE LIMIT" sign and sell you a dump-truck load.

Timing is everything.

I went to the Opry Mills store this afternoon and was given a raincheck for my 10 box limit. The clerk said it should be in on Friday. He also said someone had come in earlier and tried to buy 600 boxes! I'm assuming it was someone from THR. :D

Got my 10 box raincheck today. The counter guy said that they'd had hundreds of folks ask for the ammo.

I'm not in any rush. Bass Pro inventory seems to work on a magical--not a logical--system.

I got a raincheck for some Tru-Glo sights a month before turkey season. Season ended today. Still no sights.

I think the key here is there is no date limit stamped on my raincheck. Instead of rushing back on the first day they re-supply, I think I'll slide in a few months from now when the THR rush has died down and get my ammo.

I live in Winchester VA, pretty far from the nearest Bass Pro Shop. Could maybe somebody buy me a case and we could meet up somewhere in the DC area sometime? That price is too good to pass up!

Got 10,000 rds.

Bought 200 boxes from a local competitor that had a slow night. They matched the price. It saved me from driving 45 miles to the nearest Bass Pro Shop.
