They have the same deal in Concord, NC. Unfortunately they won't have any more in until around Sunday. I hope they have rainchecks there, cause I want 1000 rounds myself.

Darrin,

I was at Bass Pro Shops over at Opry Mills today. Winchester USA 9mm 115gr. FMJ was marked $8.99 per box of 50. Thinking the sale hadn't started yet, I left. :(

I guess this is one of those 'sale price rings up at the register' sales, huh? I'm heading back over there tomorrow. Would go now, but its storming pretty bad.

I just bought 1000 rounds for 85 dollars out the door. Also this is 1000 rounds for a gun I dont even own yet :scrutiny: . But give it a week for my mileage check to hit....and a high point carbine will be mine....and have tons of fun with

triggertime,

When I got there about noon o'clock, I was just as confused. I asked 3 different employees about the sale and it was the 3rd guy that knew what I was talking about.

Go to the section of counter where the scopes are, then turn around. They are on the end of the isle, not with all the other ammo.

Good luck! I bought 4 boxes at lunch, then 6 more after work. Between noon and 5:30pm, more than half the stock was gone. (They are expecting more in a couple of days.)

FYI, this evening when I went, the guy behind the counter said they will start a maximum limit. He didn't know what the limit would be, but he thinks it will start tomorrow.

triggertime,

Yep, I was there around 3 pm today and picked up 15 boxes. They also have some stored to the right of that isle end but the sale sign is not posted there so it's a bit confusing. It is posted on the isle end portion low (below UMC $6.99 50-round boxes).

On the other hand, I looked at some spotting scopes and binoculars. Had no idea how expensive some of this stuff was - $1000 and $1300 binoculars with $700 being an average price.

Maybe some other time

SaxonPig,

I thought it was just a fishing store from the name but apparently they sell ammo, too. How about guns? Reloading stuff?

Here in Nashville, they sell revolvers, shotguns, rifles, but no semi-automatic handguns.

Darrin: I was there around 12 noon. I probably walked right past you on my way to the ammo aisle. :D I asked a salesman, but I got the usual stupid look. The only other display I saw was the UMC .223

Sheslinger: I went back out there after the storm let up and picked up 10 boxes. They still have some left.

LOL people passing each other and not knowing it :)

But Darrin, I and a co worker went at 5:30 and I know we put a hurting on the dwendling supply.

Those Binoculours you were looking at were the high end stuff....the cheap normal people stuff is in the isles :). Was happy to see they have red dots there for 40 bucks tho....think that might go well on a high point carbine to shoot this ammo with. But dad has 2 pair of nice binoclours he got for his trip to New Zeland....something like 400 dollars a pair. Id take them if i could :)

Good to hear you found the motherrload triggertime....

I called the store in Grapevine yesterday to check. They were all out, but said they expected more in this morning, and would also be issuing rain checks. I was also told they would not sell by the case. :( geegee

Instead of driving all the way out there I decided to email the store. Ran out in Katy, but I'll be going tomorrow to get a rain check. Do they have shopping carts as I figure it could be difficult carrying 35 boxes out to the car. :D

It was very difficult carrying 20 out to the car. And to beat it all...Darrin and Rod wouldnt help me :(. The guy put 10 boxes per bag and I had to tell him to double bag it. Id really like to weigh a box and find out how much I actualy bought. I dont even own a 9mm yet....

That's not fair, the farthest west they are is in the Dallas area... if the future store in Vegas was already built, then maybe I could take a drive... :(

Shopping report from Maryland. I was the first in line when the store opened at 9AM. Strolled calmly but with purpose back to the hunting section only to have to cool my heels for about 5 minutes while the stock guys bought up the first pallet from the back. I kept expecting to see a sea of middle aged, steely eyed,no BS shooter types show up,but it was just me and two other gents. There were more guys in line to get fishing supplies, rod & reels, then to buy ammo!:what: Loaded up my cart with 10 cases, talked to another guy who loaded up with 20 cases, and I was gone. The store just opened, they were unloading 280 cases, and I fully expect them to be gone by the end of the day.

Funny, last night while telling the missus what I was going to do this morning, she totally understood. Shes gone through the same thing when buying shoes,a outfit she's got to have, etc. She plans her early morning, take no prisoner, beat the other woman, battlebuys with more precision then the military.I briefly thought about waiting till midday, but she helped me change my mind about that very quickly.:scrutiny:

I went over to the Grapevine store at lunchtime. They were all out, and issuing rain checks. Sales clerk told me the sale is supposed to go until May 15th, but it could be pulled at any time. geegee

Cliff - you were correct. They ran out yesterday. I did get a rain check. They should probably be re-stocked the middle of next week. Thay also had UMC 115g 9mm for the same price.

I just got back from the Cincinnati store. They were completely sold out of both the white box and the UMC that they were substituting for. They did give me (and my wife) a rain check for 25 boxes (maximum for the rain check - don't know if that is store wide policy or just local) so eventually we'll have 50 boxes to go pick up. They didn't know when more would be arriving.

The Bass Pro Shop in Grapevine, TX ran Winchester White Box for $1.99/50 one weekend. That was insane!

I'd buy twenty cases at that price! Of course the neighbors might kind of look at me funny unloading twenty cases of ammo out the back of my truck :scrutiny:

Guess I'd have to pull around back! :D

For DFW folks, a related quote from a guy over at Glock Talk:

I got 2000 rounds at Galyan's here in Dallas that matches at 110% of the price difference, so I lucked out and got it at $3.54/box. They have since lowered their price to $3.99/box, but still compared to the usual $5.99 or $6.99 that I pay, that is still almost 2 for 1

----------------------------------

I took a rain check in Grapevine Bass Pro for 30 boxes around noon Friday. After seeing the $3.54 deal, I might just have to show it to 'em at Gaylans. :D

Lots of Glockers are in town for the annual GSSF shootout in Carrollton this weekend, so I doubt much cheap ammo is going to remain on the floor for very long anywhere ... ;)

Wish I had read this Friday PM. I was there at 0900 Sat AM. No Win Whitebox, and totally out of the UMC substitute. Got a raincheck, but getting back there won't be easy (I was driving through MD on my way back to LForD country). BTW, the stack of raincheck slips looked like a phonebook.
